To further assist our clients we began researching alternative energy methods. Apricus was the one company who provided answers to our questions.

There are several companies that manufacture these systems. Always take your time and conduct your research, talk with the companies representatives. Then when your ready consider having a qualified technician install a system.

Through our Housing Rehabilitation Program these systems will be offered to homeowners, further reducing their energy needs. Not all homeowners will receive this equipment due to site location and/or other variables.

The suns rays heat fluid within the cylindrical tubes. The fluid travels from these tubes to the storage tank which in turn acts as the heater for your domestic hot water. The collector can be roof and sidewall mounted or installed at ground level.

No system is maintenance free! The solar hot water heater system does not involve many moving parts. There are a few controls, circulator pump, and expansion tank that over a period of years may require service. These items based on present replacement cost is minimal considering the cost savings over the life of the system.

The additional tank can be installed in conjunction with your present hot water tank or if your tank is deteriorated utilized as a stand alone tank. If utilized as a stand alone tank there are electric backup coils to heat the water when there is not enough daylight such as the evening time.
